Reyna Delcid is a first generation Salvadoran - American multi disciplinary designer and photographer. She is the youngest of four children and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland by her parents who fled the civil war in El Salvador in the 80’s. Her interest consist of documenting the mundane yet ethereal changes life presents. She finds inspiration in observing the ordinary interactions between people and their surroundings, capturing moments as they are found. Much of her work as a designer and photographer has focused on the human experience and what has helped people suffer less amidst any level of adversity. In between her years of study, she traveled in pursuit of documenting the coexistence between humans and their built environment. After graduating from the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in 2018, she moved to New York to do architectural + construction related work and photography. From 2019 to early 2020, she worked for OnSiteIQ constructing virtual tours for architectural sites as well as managing projects and workers in remote markets across the United States. Currently, she is working on her first publication, Fingir, focusing on artists from the Central American diaspora. Reyna is also intersecting her architectural design skills in other mediums such as jewelry and furniture. She is continuing her studies in sustainable design and focusing her photography on the vast differences within Latin American culture, in and outside the United States.
